Ode to the family dog

Maggie, Oh Maggie,
Four footed friend of mine...
You watched our house
You greened our grass
And warmed the house feline.

Your dark brown coat matched neatly
With your eyes, your nails, and tail.
Your choice of scent was funky
And would make us all turn pale.

I'm thinking now "hey, dogs can't read"
This is a stupid blog...
All I want to really say is
Maggie was a real good dog!
