So, I thought that after so many negatives in my last blog entry, I'd add something positive. This almost always points to food...ugh, no wonder I'm wearing elastic waistband pants!

My mom makes this absolutely yummy sandwich. I will take a picture the next time we have the sandwich. Until that time, please use your imagination!

This is my mother's Hawaiian sandwich.

French bread cut into desired lengths and then halved to make an open faced sandwich.

Place on the broiler pan or a cookie sheet (whatever floats your boat).

Put 1-2 layers of cut (deli) ham onto the bread.

Top the ham with slices of pineapple (canned works fabulously).

Then across top of the pineapple place a layer of swiss cheese.

Broil until the cheese has melted and has turned golden.

Take it out of the oven and let it sit for a few minutes (so that you don't get major burns on the top of your mouth, like me!).

Voila...you have one of the most delicious sandwiches ever.
